Combi Utility Control

27 Jan 2011

Category: Home, Latest News |

Power & Drive Solutions are quickly becoming a market leader in the development and installation of specialist control solutions for mobile power generation equipment generally owned by Hire Companies and used by Utility Companies to support their network. This unique control system based on the ComAP platform enables Utility companies to perform maintenance on their infrastructure without disruption to the customer. The generator is installed at the customers end, manually synchronised, then the infrastructure is disconnected and the customers are supplied from the generator or multiple generators if required. When the infrastructure is replaced the control system keeps the generator in sync with the mains and allows the Utility company to manually reconnect the customers to the mains supply all without disruption to the customer.

Each generator control system is built to handle multiple applications at the flick of a switch, giving our customers extreme flexibility with one piece of equipment. This is especially important for the Hire companies who deploy them in many different roles . Some of the applications used by Utility companies are; Single and Multiple Standby, Single and Multiple Parallel, Base Load and Peak Lopping to support fragile infrastructure at time of high power demands.

The support we provide and the time we have spent continually developing this system give us a distinct advantage over the competition. To further improve our product we are now providing remote technical support to many of our customers. We are fitting modems with IP addresses and connecting the portable generator over the Next G network back to our local monitoring solution to fix, repair and diagnose minor problems when they occur. We are also providing email and SMS notifications automatically to our customers so they can provide breakdown assistance before the customer even knows about it. Our customers also the ability to connect to their equipment over the internet no matter where they are in the world to download history for servicing or just to keep tabs on how their equipment is operating.

We can build a control panel for you to install into your equipment or we can undertake a complete removal of the old control equipment and installation of our dedicated control system in our workshop or yours. All system come with a complete set of drawings unique to your equipment. Some of companies using our solutions include:

  • Coates Hire
  • ETSA Utilities
  • Atlas Copco
  • Energex
  • Cummins
  • MTU
  • Country Energy
